Designing the interior of your home is a personal journey that may span just a few months, or extend over many years. We are pleased to provide whatever level of support you prefer.

• Full-service design consulting - Whether you need a couple hours of expert ideas for your space, guidance on selecting a feature furniture piece, or comprehensive design and installation for an entire home, we are willing and able to help.  More

  Hourly fee: $150 for design time; $75 for shopping, administrative, and logistical work
  
  Furnishings pricing: 30% over wholesale
  
  Retainer: 50% of project budget; required for project budgets in excess of $100,000

  
  
  
• Guided trip to the Seattle Design Center -  Laura welcomes clients who want to make an accompanied trip to browse, brainstorm or buy at a wholesale design center. More

  Guided day trip to the Seattle Design Center:
  $1,200 flat fee
  
  For Portland, Oregon metro area residents only. Includes taxi transport to and from PDX, Horizon shuttle flight to SeaTac, car transport to SDC, lunch, and a five-hour one-on-one guided tour of SDC showrooms. No purchases necessary.

• Do-it-yourself design plan - For clients who simply want help with ideas, and prefer to select specific furnishings on their own time and through their own retail sources. More




Custom design plan: $750 per room; $2,500 for kitchen or bath

After filling out a detailed questionnaire, you meet with Laura for an invaluable one-on-one session (two hours) to explore your design needs, preferences, and wishes. Not to worry if you you're not sure what you want--we are highly skilled in facilitative interviews, and can quickly help you articulate what you need and want.

Laura then spends several weeks developing a design plan for your space, which is presented to you during another one-on-one session (two hours). You receive a custom report in a binder, incorporating: a narrative description of the design approach and concept, floorplan, perspective sketch, conceptual recommendations for specific furnishings pieces, color suggestions, recommendations for architectural changes to your space, and suggested budget allocations for the project. Clients find it immensely useful to bring this binder with them as a guide when shopping for their home.

It's then up to you to decide when to pull the trigger on purchases, which stores to buy from, and how much of the design plan to execute. And, should you decide later that you want to use ArcLight to access designer furnishings brands, rather than shop for yourself in retail stores, we're always happy to facilitate those selections as well.)
